What I still want to know is, why was a certain English Electric type named after an Australian city?

And a certain DH twin renamed by the RAF after a county?

A while back BA had ordered a new fleet of shorthaul aircraft and asked staff for suggestions for individual names. They ran a competition in British Airways News. Everybody's favourite suggestion was from a Captain. Scottish Glens. Glen Livet, Glen Morangie, Glen Fiddich, Glen Moray ...

Didn't win, though
