There are plenty and surface detail, however it's hard to demonstrate in a screenshot. When the aircraft is in motion you see all of the bits and bobs but when you capture it in a screenshot it's either too bright or too dark depending on where the sun is and the surface detail vanishes.
Rest assured it'll be as close as is possible within the confines of FS once the team is finished with it.

Re: Lady in White...
If this is in 'alpha' which Chris says it is.. there's going to be a lot still to do with it.. a heck of a lot so what we're seeing here are WIP shots and at an early stage in it's development. I think it would be more useful to point out things that are the wrong shape (should there be any) rather than the paint detail which is very much ongoing
Wonder if I'll be tempted come release day

If you scroll down the list, there's a thread about the Vulcan's famous howl.

That's what worries me Chris. Certain models I can resist.. others, I find myself being drawn like a moth to a lamp

Re: Lady in White...
Just wanted to pop in and put my two penneth in..
Firstly, thanks for all of the constructive feedback..One thing I've found is that the Vulcan is a truly iconic and well loved aircraft in aviation circles, especially with us Brits... (I remember seeing the Vulcan display at RAF St Athan as a kid!)
From my point of view, the aim of the Alpha stage is to get a fully working base model from which to develop other mods from (those who've had to recompile eight models because of one light misplaced will know what I mean! lol) However in all seriousness, texturing is something that is ongoing and can be fiddled and adjusted right up until the release candidate. Of course the anti-flash white is a bitch to do, any plain white colour is a sod to do with FSX especially with Specular levels and colours et al.
I personally like a slightly off white colour, because it allows the panel lines and shading to stand out just that little bit further..
However I do agree with Chris, in the sim is where the panel lines and bump maps etc come to life.
On that note, I want to extend an invitation for a few of the forum members to try out the IRIS Vulcan and even join in the feedback on the development and testing we do. If you're undecided wether this Vulcan is the one for you or if you're even interested in how we do our behind the scenes testing, drop me a line at [email protected] and we'll sort things out... Only thing I ask is that you report back to the kind folks here with your opinions on what you've seen...negative or positive, we don't mind.
Five people, first in best dressed....
Can't say fairer than that..
Oh and for your info, we have a youtube page that I post video shots on regularly...ish.
