CLS 747 'classic' released
Probably not many peoples cup of tea here as it isn't British, but it sure is a very nice model and deservedly a classic:

Just don't fall for the 'FSX' sticker like I did..
It's still a nice aircraft though to fly in FS9.

Nice, panel as good as the RFP one, anyone? Looks like it should have the same functionality.

Re: CLS 747 'classic' released
The panel looks as though it's about the same excellent standard as the RFP, but the quality of the paint job isn't very good. Particularly on the British Airways model.
I fly the 747 Classic quite often and if anybody's interested, I use the Project Opensky 742 with the RFP panel. The paints that come with the RFP package are a bit too photo-unrealistic for my taste, but the Posky ones are rather nice and the panel works fine with that model.
Ian
EDIT: Of course the advantage of Posky and RFP is that they are both freeware.

Same here, have merged RFP with POSKY.
Apparently, I read somewhere that the RFP people are working on a new product, may not even be called RFP but is being hailed as version 4.
The best thing I heard about it was that they will be tackling the 100, 200, 300 and SP models!!!
Now that is something I will surely not mind paying for.

Re: CLS 747 'classic' released
Hello, thanks to all for the information about the CLS Classic 747, I was especially interested to read the topics concerning merging the RFP panel with the Polsky model, I like the RFP its certainly a challenge but horrors of all horrors it models the BA version with Pratt and Whitney engines, no offence meant to any american friends on this forum but all BA`s 200 series had the RB211.
I therefore installed the RFP panel on the RB211 model from Polsky and the engines cut after a few seconds I guess the RFP is modeled to the Pratt and Whitney version, could anyone tell me if I could get round this problem, I understand the panel guages would not be correct, as the RB211 is triple spool, but the PMDG 747-400, works with the BA model though the flight deck panel is modelled to the General Electric Engine.
I would be grateful to any one that can offer a solution, thanks for your time

Re: CLS 747 'classic' released
Hi sammach. I already had the Project Opensky 747-200 RB211 in the BA chatham flag livery and I had the full Ready for Pushback set. I simply used the panel.cfg from an RFP (VMAX) aircraft and pasted it into the Posky folder. As you know, the RFP panel is in a separate folder, so the panel.cfg reads:
[fltsim]
//Analog 1
alias=RFP_Panels\VMAX_ANALOG_VF
I can't find any reference to engine type in the RFP folders - maybe it's because all their models are GE based. Obviously I'm using the analog rather than the tape panel as that is what BA used. I have had no problems with the engines cutting out and it seems to fly and perform pretty well, although I'm no expert ;-)

Hello Ian,
Thanks for your post, thanks for your time and interest, I have been busy today with another little problem on this forum in the Classic British section, you will see from my post there, [ ILS Display ] that i am indeed no expert, but willing to learn, I will give it another try and come back to let you know how I managed to merge the RFP and Polsky, thanks again.....Stan

With regard to this "RFP" panel, may I ask where to find it? A simple Google search has failed me!

Search AVSIM for Ready For Pushback or VMAX. It's under one or the other.
