Skagging around in a '10

Post by forthbridge »

Despite the quality of David's other models, I keep ending up in the VC10 - if I say so myself the hours spent mean I am totally at ease with it's flight envelope - I really should start with another model soon!

A little tomfoolery saw me with light fuel (10%) and a visit to Skagway.....

It's an interesting approach to say the least....

...and the runway is not best suited for biggies......

descending at VAT +15 here:

Hercs aren't the only RAF type that can make a steep appraoch.....VAT +25 here.....oops!
Image

Engines idling as I bring about a flare - as I did so speed dropped - so a little throttle, and out with the spoilers so I don't skip off....

wings flex on touchdown......

Centre wheel down... good - I can nail the brakes and reversers for a stop just at the RW exit...

And so ends another Lunatical landing in the '10!

Lovely crisp shots Jim

I've had a '10' down at Emma Field though I wouldn't recommend it

Lovely shots, Jim. Those mountains certainly add some drama and interest. Pretty scary stuff Image
