HMS Hermes 1960
I was sent this today, a really nice Brit video, showing the Schimitar and then the "new" Sea Vixen.
A worthwhile look for those interested. Nice shots of the Gannet as well. Enjoy

Thanks for the heads-up Seaking!

A beaut of a video. Also probably the first and last time we'll hear the AEW Gannet and a 'ballet dancer's grace' referred to in the same sentence! Well, maybe a heavily pregnant ballet dancer.

Steven Beeny, repainter and modeller. New Canberra series for FS9 out now.

I enjoyed watching that film, about 9 minutes in there is a brief glimpse of a Skyraider taxying. Were they embarked at the same time as the AEW Gannets or is it just a stray clip incorporated into the main film?

Brilliant!
I particularly like the after-ops drinks, complete with full bling outfits. No-one does (should that be did?) it like the RN!!!
Thought I saw a Dave B doppelganger in there as well at one point ;-)

Lovely!
It just won't be the same if we ever get F-35Bs on whatever carriers we have...

Re: HMS Hermes 1960
When an aircraft is launched from the catapult I've noticed a splash in the water just below the aircraft. Does anyone know what is causing the splashes?
Just curious.

Re: HMS Hermes 1960
Isn't there a wire or something from the launch that drops into the water
