Recent misadventures with FS9 request

Post by hobby »

Following my recent misadventures with FS9;

Can anyone send me the Fs9 update 9.1 please?

I would also be grateful for the address of the file which allows one to run Fs9 without a disk permanently sitting in the CD drive. I thought that classic british files held that zip but i cannot find on that site.

Well to completely solve the 'trees and weeds on runways' problem I finally decided to delete and re-install Fs9 plus all my addon programs and scenery.

This task, just finished after two days solid labour at the screen, would have been impossible without help from Dave B and Jim Skona - the latter enabling me to restore a completely updated version of the excellent weather program 'Active Skyv6.5' within 12 hours of my initial call for help.

One great advantage is that I now have far less addon scenery - I don't habitually fly over the USA so have no need for the excellent 'Free Flow' series and I have reduced the number of acft and gauges within the fs9 program which should help it all to run more smoothly. As Dave B wrote in a pm 'amazing how much one collects over a couple of years!'

One curious fact emerged, over the past three years I have un-installed FS9 two or three (or more?) times using the 'FS9 un-install' mechanism, apperantly without any problems. This time I decided to un-install via the 'WXP install/remove' routine. I was surprised to see that apparently I had been running multiple copies of FS9 simultaneously - I have never heard of that problem before and my setup gave no clue of such multiple copies, has anyone else seen or heard of thae problem?

Well no 'trees and weeds' remain on any of my runways so I am off now to do a bit of flying before the CB+Bangs arrive.
