Hi Skip

I have just added a bit more specular to the CWP textures and adjusted the lamps a bit to match better.
took me ages originally as i had to re type the fonts etc so that they where clear and legible.

Very pleased how near the model is to the real one as i had not visually compared like that before.

Regards
Rick

This is the most acurate model I have ever flown. Rick has really excelled himself! I really hope the model sells well, as the effort and time that he has put into it even surpasses the Argosy!!! :)

Blimey Rick with that level of detail you should take up Computer Art (if you ever find the time of course). Lovely stuff as always.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Everyone
After being at Duxford on Sunday and finding out that the Hawk is only for FX, Is there any chance for a FS2004 version. I have spent Around a Thousand pounds for this Flight Sim and only want to change over at the very last minute.

PLEASE PLEASE, MAKE A VERSION FOR FS2004

PAUL :flying:

The Hawk is a true FS.X model

Even if he wanted to Rick could not make an FS 9 version ;-)

I would mean a whole new model and would not look like that :-(

If you want it you'll need to buy FS.X simple as that really

I am afraid an FS9 Hawk is not going to happen, and that is an end to it. Just think about it as something you will be able to have one day..... just not now.

It's not the end of the world, those that will fly it may well be missing out on about 2000 FS9 models that do not port over well in FSX, not to mention the scenery side of things!  :-#

I'm afraid Trev's correct. The Hawk has become so complex that a lot of the animations and effects are just not possible for FS9. It would as Garry says mean a complete new model. At the end of the day Skysim is a commercial venture and with the hours that the FSX version has taken it would not be commercially viable to invest that sort of effort in an FS9 version.

What I would say is that even if I had not already switched to FSX, this model would indeed make that happen. I've been doing some distance flight testing on her recently instead of the local airtests and I have to say, Rick - you've raised the bar hugely here. I once joking wrote that the Hawk would rewrite the book on FS experiences but it would seem I was right!

She is, as you would expect, extremely aerobatic (for a jet) and it's both easy and great fun to put together good show routines for her.

More and more people are turning to FSX these days anyway, especially as they upgrade to new hardware that can handle the demand. It's getting hard to find copies of FS2004 on the shelves at any but the most hardcore software sellers around here. There are still some available, but you have to really search to find them. With more payware add-ons being made for FSX, especially those like your Hawk and the upcoming PMDG MD-11, it is slowly making inroads on FS9. Hopefully the next FS release will undo some of the poor decisions made in FSX while retaining the best qualities it has to offer.
