Unknown aircraft. Any ideas?

Post by AlexP »

Whilst viewing the latest photos at the Duxford update site (http://www.duxford-update.info/) I came across one showing only part of an aircraft and I'm stumped as to what it is  .

Does anyone know what the yellow aircraft with roundels, midway down the line up is? Or can anyone make out the registration? :dunno:

Garry, Not sure why the link isn’t working correctly for you but what you should be getting is a picture of a line up of privately owned aircraft attending the Pilot Magazine event held at Duxford yesterday.

You may be able to access it if you follow this link http://www.duxford-update.info/ then click ‘News and links’ on the left and then scroll down until you see the picture entitled ‘A very successful Pilot Fly-in’ (which can be enlarged if clicked on).

In the middle of the line up is what appeared to be an ex-RAF aircraft, which I couldn’t quite place.

However it would appear that both Ian and John have identified the exact aircraft in question, Isaacs Fury II G-BWWN.

Expert work chaps and thanks very much indeed for clearing up the mystery for me. :welldone:
