Hi all, can anyone answer these questions please? Basically ive got over 400 objects placed at RAF Spadeadam but im getting really bad FPS hits, were talking ove about 10 FPS drop. The questions are mainly as follows;
1- Is there an XML or BGL limit on objects being placed in one file?
2- If so will cutting half the objects from one xml/bgl file and putting into a new one solve the FPS problem?
3- If not how can it be solved without cutting out objects? Or how not to go back to stock objects? This is because im placing objects not from stock FSX files...
Thanks in advance

Re: XML-BGL Scenery question
Hi Chris.
This really depends on wether or not the objects are proper FSX object. Proper FSX objects will be compiled using xtomdl and will make use of DDS textures. Old style FS9 objects will work, but your frames will get utterly hamered. To be honest 400 object (regardless of format) seems very excessive. I have built (but not finished) a EGAC and EGAA, largely from stock or dedicated FSX libraries and don't have a massive frame hit, although nothing like 400 object, Belfast City has cranes and cargo at the Docks and a good few cars etc at the old airport. Can I ask what tools you are using?

Re: XML-BGL Scenery question
hi thanks for the reply, yes theres some nonfsx objects in there... Im using whisplacer to create both the xml and bgls...
Re: XML-BGL Scenery question
Whisplacer is great, and also what I am using. To give you an example I was playing about with Aldergrove and placed a few (5) of the large RAF hangers there. The hanger opject had come from FS9 and I was stuggling to get more than 5 - 10 fps. When the RAF buildings library was released on AVSIM in FSX format, I replaced the FS9 ones with the FSX ones and added some (about 20 objects) and I get 25 -35 fps.

Re: XML-BGL Scenery question
Hmmm, im using the follwoing addons for FS9 mcdmil.zip(military vehicles) ggse_j3.zip(FS airport vehicles) and for FSX patmislib.zip (Patriot battery)
Im try to strike a balance between looking real but not stock FSX objects...
