That's not the way I've read it Joe. Maybe wrongly.
Many posts by various pilots seem to point to that once you have an aircraft off station
you have that aircraft until you return it to its home within a reasonable time.
It's maybe the reasonable time that is in doubt.

Not forgetting to inform the fleet manager of the reason if you want to keep it there
Just a case of letting the manager know if it is there for a reason or it could be assumed to be abandoned.
