They used to use the call sign "Empress" if I recall correctly - very classy!

Pete right about Empress call sign , what's quite rare about the Brit is that short lived livery, they are more commonly depicted in the multi pin scheme that was simliar to TCA.

A little sad for such a beautiful aircraft designed for transatlantic traffic, but I used to fly up to Liverpool in British Eagle Brittannia aircraft in the 1960s - before the railway had electrical powered trains out of Euston Station.

Have been following this series with as much interest as i did when Doctor Who fought the Daleks back in the sixties, very many thanks for showing these Peter, the one photograph that really caught my eye from all the photos posted is the one at Heathrow, (second down) not just the Britannia but also of the cars.........True British Classics.....well, apart from one that is!! :roll:
