Dave
Sorry I didnt understand you - they look like standard bent beack and feathers probably VT/VC/CF/KA if the photos were prior to 66
At that time Eagle was trooping out of Heathrow and also staging through Lyneham to Woomera for MOD - there is a plain tailed
Brit parked around the side of the hangar - RKA/RKB were painted at LHR by BOAC and remained there most of their days at Eagle.
BTW I spy a York in the shot of EM
Some beautiful shots there Pete - thank you for sharing

I like the orange wing scheme. Is it standard for all BEA aircraft or just that model? BTW is that a SAS Caravelle in the background?

This is the best I can do with them, LeifDispatchDragon wrote:they look like standard bent beack and feathers probably VT/VC/CF/KA if the photos were prior to 66

You're absolutely right - as usual, Leif. Very fuzzy but there's what looks to me to be an ex-BOAC 102 and then the white one - a 300series of some sort?DispatchDragon wrote:there is a plain tailed Brit parked around the side of the hangar

Me too. I enlarged that as well but it's too indistinct to make it worth posting but you can see it's white and pale blue - Skyways, maybe?DispatchDragon wrote:BTW I spy a York in the shot of EM

Re: Echo Papa as she was meant to be
Pete if your seeing pale blue its almost certainly Skyways - Both they and Dan hauled Proteus around for BOAC
And you blew the Brits up nicely the two around the corner are interesting I was going to agree with you about the white tail being a 300
but it might be a 100 - Im assuming the colour values tend to go to the red scale which makes the BOAC blue look purple when blown up.
I do love scouring around old piccies - especially ones with the clarity that you always provide
Leif
