N51 55.45 W1 13.40 Just flying over it in the 10 and its covered in cars, but looks resonably modern judging by the shape of the hard standings etc.
Ben.

Cheers Bob. Just landed the 10 at Weybridge, so poped on for a look and think your right. Anyone know what used to be there, when it closed etc?
Ben.

What an interesting Site, I had no idea how big that base was until I got into all of the Galleries, even by RAF Standards, that was quite a large base.
Has quite a few remnents of a lost era, what with the majority of buildings being underground and featuring decontamination chambers.
Thanks for sharing that.

USAF F-100 Super Sabre until 1970 when the first F-111E arrived (the first based deployment of the F-111 outside the US).Anyone know what used to be there, when it closed etc?
IIRC these were involved with the bombing of Libya.
Initially wearing the tails codes JR/JS/JT for the 3 F-111 squadrons, these all became tail code UH.
EDIT: Alphasim have FS9 scenery for Upper Heyford on the freeware page
