Microsft have done it again....

Post by TSR2 »

Just when I thought Microsoft had done a great job with maps.live.com (formerly local.live.com) and produced something to rival google's maps.google.com they've gone and killed it off and turned it into MultiMap with a horrible user interface and loaded with ads. Really disapointed :@

(Sorry... had to have a wee rant.)

I went there today and thought I had had finger trouble when I ended up with a hideous page which I soon left :@

Umm.... dunno what the deal is, but I just went to http://maps.live.com/ and got the same interface they've had for well over a year with no ads or anything.

You guys sure you're looking at the right page?

That's the one I'm getting now on the local live.com link

The last time I used it was maybe the beginning of this year....could be more recent....it was the old familiar.

Perhaps it was introduced in stages???.

Chris,

I'm wondering if its only UK users (i.e. they are looking at source IP address and redirecting.) The site is now multimap from the UK and its crap. :-(

I just followed the link from Chris and it went to the 'new style' and defaulted to the UK, despite my IP being Spanish!

Hi Folks

Nasty multimap -http://www.multimap.com/?mkt=en-uk

Virtual Earth - http://www.multimap.com/?mkt=en-us

Suggest save following as a desktop link - Virtual Earth UK

PS
Be aware
latest Virtual Earth control interface seems a little flakey.
Earth can get a serious & unstoppable wobble-on.
