Caribbean Avro-Fest

Post by V2-LCS »

Almost the four corners of the Caribbean Sea covered by these 748s.

9Y-TFT on lease to Air BVI of the British Virgin Islands for 5 months in 1985

Couldn't help then using the basic TTAS livery for one of the Trini-based aircraft

and the early Bahamasair livery

I'll zip up the textures and go and learn how to upload to Avsim !

Hi Tony,

Yes I saw you'd done those paints. I wanted the Air BVI lease livery, and I did think about taking the easy route and asking you to modify one of yours. However I took the "character-building" road, I've learnt a lot about painting fuselage stripes as a result!

There are 2 more Liat liveries from the 60s which I'd like to do, which completes all the Caribbean 748 liveries I know of, and then I'm off to go "flying" the islands again.

Cheers
Jon

Thanks Tony,

Avsim won't accept my files, says my zips aren't zips. I've sent the 2 Liat liveries to Leif for classicbritishfiles. I'm off to Paris for a few days on business, if those 2 files work I'll send the rest over when I'm back home.

Cheers
Jon

I think you are clicking on the wrong box at the end of the Avsim upload

If you do that is the error you get

It's happened to me but I can't think off hand exactly what it is

Hi Leif,

I found the problem. I use a different compression utility at home and although it produces .zip files perfectly I think they are technically .rar files and so Avsim threw them out. A few days ago when I was trying to figure out what was going wrong the texture folders got messed up, which probably gave you a headache!

Anyway Avsim likes them now, and I'll flick the other files over to you shortly.
