Odd downtime problem with this site

Post by fighterpilot »

I am having a few odd downtime problems with this site at the moment. It only seems to be working for short 5-10 minute periods before bring up an error when trying to load the page. I have tried all i can think of including firewall and AV settings but have been unable to figure it out. I am using Firefox with vista on a wireless connection. This is probably a bit of a long shot but does anybody have any possible solutions to offer?

No probs here either Richard (WinXP SP2/IE6).

A belated happy birthday btw mate. I'd not seen you up for ages so didn't highlight the event. Sod's law, you were up the day after! :$ Hope you had a good one anyway

Richard.....Do you have Vista mate.....?

I have that problem quite often......

All i do is "Diagnose connection problem" and it finds no problems......then i refresh the page and bingo....!

All OK again..... :worried:

Don't have the foggiest why it does this but thats my fix...... :dunno:

Thanks for the tips guys. Tony i''ll see if that works next time it happens. I have a sneaking suspicion it may just be the wireless connection itself although other sites seem to work ok. :dunno: Dave, i have been around recently but not posted much. Unfortunately I couldn't use flynet for a week or more because my joystick decided to die on me. Now back with an X52 birthday present and back to flying.

Rgr that Richard ;-)

You happy with the X52?? One of the lads at Brooklands asked me about buying a joystick and I couldn't offer much advice. The old M$ Precision Pro II I use hasn't been made for years  Anyway.. he's not the greatest pc-literate bod so is after something you plug in and fly. Is the X52 easy to setup??

Sri to go off topic :$

To be honest Dave i really haven't investigated half of the functions with the X52 or the profiling software. However it was easy to install and use with just assigning the commands you want from within fs2004. I intend to investigate it more this week.

As to the problems with the site unfortunately, although it does seem better it is still playing up slightly and when i try and diagnose the connection problem it finds nothing wrong and refreshing does not seem to work. I may try and see if it works better when i am closer to the wireless router or try from the other machine that is hardwired to the router. It is not a problem with just Firefox as the site will not load in ie either.

An update and also to see if anyone has any other ideeas. I have tried it with my laptop right next to the wireless hub with out it working however i have not yet tried it on the desktop machine. I know it is late but thanks for all the birthday wishes. I like the x52 hasn't made my flying much better though
