cheers, I've got MSN on now and run Auslogic - it's very fast so I think I'll use that one myself.

Great!
The only other things I can think of are to keep the system well "cleaned" (Defrags, lots of it, and also getting rid of junk, as you would in XP) and regularly updating it using the Windows Update.

Desktop Search cannot be turned off, you can just make it look like it's turned off....it carries on as normal....

My way, remove all reference from the registry....which, sadly, is trial and error as far as I can see! (I killed my system about 6 times in 3 days)
