Lost vc lighting

Hi i have just noticed that there is no vc lighting in any default aircraft.Most of my addons are ok except the DM Bac 1-11 which has vc lights but the o/head switches I recall had two settings but now they're not adjustable.Milton Shupes D18s used to have a useable lightswitch on the vc panel but that switch no longer works although the vc is lit.

The assignment is shift+L and that works fine in the 2D cockpits but won't control vc.
I have let it build a new .cfg but no change, hardware rendered lights to max no change.

Any suggestione would be gratefully received

Sounds the same as what happened to me a while back.
Confused the hell out of me for a while until I discovered the vc light effect had been removed from the FS9\effects folder. I'd recently uninstalled something (can't remember what now) & can only assume that removed it.
So take a look for the file fx_vclight.fx in the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Effects

If you can't find it & don't have a backup, download it from here http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/fx_vclight_fx.zip
