Grandmother and Eggs post!!

Post by Trev Clark »

I guess you all know this, but I just got around to updating my DirectX9C (November 2007 issue) and have had a distinct performance and smoothness increase in FS9. Well worth the 65 meg download, available from MS and other file hosting sites.

Hmmmm.....I am a bit confused here Trev....?

I re-installed my PC last night and saw your post so i thought i would check.....

Now i have a DX9 card but i have Windows Vista....

I just checked DXDiag and it said my Direct X version is 10.....?

Will that degrade my Graphics card performance do you know....?

As far as I am aware you need a DX10 capable card in order to display DX10 effects. You may possibly do better with DX9 even though Vista is DX10 ready but I could be wrong.

Hi Tony,

You can happily download the DX9 updates. DX9 and DX10 are separate and as you don't have a DX10 card, it doesn't matter about that anyway. ;-)

DX10 is the version of DX installed on Vista, but it effectivly runs in DX9 mode on your system so the updates are valid. :cpu:
