Hi Andy

you will be able to sit front or rear which you will chose when you load the aircraft.

not sure if it will be MP 2 seatable as i have never used that feature in FSX but should be.

currently the Hawk is giving the same framerate as the Default FSX Cessna inside and out which scares me as the Hawk is huge poly wise.

if i can fully poulate both cockpits in one model file without killing frames it will be in one.

i am really fed up of Payware with dead VC's so bear in mind if you can see it you can click it and if possible it will do something too.

Regards
Rick

Sounds to me the only way to know for sure is to try it... ;-) ;-)

Ah, but remember a similar thing happened with the fantastic Aerosoft Beaver, which is a highly detailed model with an amazing VC... yet has less impact on FPS than the default Beaver!

No complaints here, trust me! :)

Hi Chris

24" widescreen.

1920x 1200 32

with the Hawk i get 40 -90 fps in FSX maxxed sliders but run limited usually to 20 fps as it's just silky smooth with zero stutters and the Generation X can keep up and stay sharp
as long as i am not over about 500 KIAS.

You need as big a monitor as possible for poly pushing as it's easier the closer you can get to the points & polys.

I find that FSX has a better framerate than FS9 once the resolution gets higher than 1600 x 1200.
no idea why though but i have not flown anything in FS9 since the first week of Making my Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat.

Loaded FS9 recently and it looked so dated i binned it.
Have since installed a default FS9 so i can export and test if need be.

the only FS9 i would want to fly is the Flightzone 01 & 02 Portland sceneries i bought last year as they are brilliant.

Rick

Rick I reckon you must have zero stuff running the background an 17 quad core CPU's to run FSX at max sliders!! Amzing as I have a powerful setup as far\ FS9 is concerned and FSX looks shyte runs like shyte so thats why I admire anyone who can run it so well, I think it will cost me a packet to the horse power to get there that means saving up so that will be around the same time they release FSXXIV and Airbus 380 will be a classic

Tony even DB is getting 20 - 30 on the Hawk and his system is much lower speced than yours.... the Service packs made one hell of a difference. :cpu:

I really can't understand why you get so low performance on your setup Tony.

My setup is what I consider a "high-medium" in today's terms (its about 4 years old)

A Pentium 5 HT, with 3 GB RAM and a 7600GT Graphics Card

In general I have Frames at around the 20'ies (I've locked it there) and in heavy scenery/traffic/skies I get lower of course, but no stutter at all.

The sharpness miss in extreme conditions, but it's because of FSX prefers fluidity over sharpness, which to me is a fair bargain. Once the Graphic Card catches up, it all turns out nice again....

Something must be terrible wrong on your system, or maybe it's just that anti-FSX you've installed

You might have confused anti-SPAM with anti-SIM somewhere.... :dunno:

Anyway it's where you have the best experiences that counts, not the version of the software.
Best Rgds

Hi Tony

I have tons of stuff running in the background.

Virus scanner is the thing that kills my scenery loading and causes stutters so it's off when flying.

My System is a bit of a monster but currently CPU & Memory are cheap.

Intel Q6600 running at 9x 400 mhz which gives me 3.6 ghz (not bad for a 2.4 GHZ chip) but frames where identical with an Core2 Duo at same speed.
only difference is quad core doesn't suffer stutters as i guess it spreads the load better but dunno. (the Q6600 is currently the same price as the E6600 dual core which has just been fased out)

4 GB of Ram (i am on Vista 32 Bit But my Board alows the memmory to be remapped so i seem to get just over 3 gb of useable ram)
ie: Vista & XP 32 bit OS's cannot use more than 3 GB in real terms. but having said that 4 works better than 2 did on here noticeably

Board is ASUS P5B Deluxe as it's not as finicky to overclock as the newer ASUS boards.

Processor is Watercooled (homemade system using Honda S2000 heater matrix as radiator & a fishtank pump Ehiem though so goodun

i have 6 HDDs from 200 to 500 GB each with 3 of the drives striped with my Model source files on.

my Video card is an ASUS EN8800GTX running the latest Vista driver from Nvidia (WHQL)

no tweaks or silly optimise programs running at all.

not anything special and "Now" not hugely expensive to build.

you can have much faster stuff than i have but i try to build a stable reliable sytem that i will not lose files on.

yes it's overclocked a lot but CPU never goes above 45 deg C with my watercooling which is 10 deg C lower than at std speed with standard "E Box" heatsink & Fan.(fans on silent mode on Radiator)
much lower if i turn them up to be as noisy as it was air cooled.

I have not had any major framerate problems with FSX from day 1 as long as i was using at least a core2duo & an 8000 series NVidia card

other than that i see that any NV8000 series card will work just as well for FSX including the GTS which is fairly cheap now (not when i bough my GTX) :$

As you can see i Love ASUS parts as they work and i have not had an ASUS part fail in 8 years that i have used their Boards.

Anyway enough of this.

I'll build you a system Tony but you must let me choose the parts.

Regards
Rick
