The one thing which CONSTANTLY gets on my nerves with Acceleration is the VSync. There is a strange tearing effect most of the time, which I cannot remove. It's mainly noted online with nVidia cards, but since mine is ATI I believe that's just down to market share. Hopefully the same thing isn't present in SP2, although I fear it will be...

Is this the same as what I am seeing?

When I pan the view, or even turn the aircraft, the scenery does not seem to refresh evenly over the screen. This results in 'ripples' moving up the screen, and the scenery refreshing in 'jitters'.

When I first tried FSX, the sim was appalling - little more than a slide show.
SP1 was fanatastic (admittedly, with no add-on traffic), silky smooth and averaging 50+ fps.
I then added 'Acceleration' and the problems started. I've tried a clean install and using SP2 rather than 'Acceleration', but the results are the same.
Uninstalling SP2, again results in a silky smooth sim.
I've also tried restricting the fps, but no luck.
Whilst FS9 remains my main sim, FSX is (or at least should be) fun to tinker with.

Current system is

- Athlon 64 X2 3800 AM2 CPU with 2 x 512KB cache, overclocked to 2.4GHz!
- Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe nForce 5 Motherboard
- NVIDIA Geforce 7900GT 256MB PCI Express Graphics
- 2GB Gskill PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory
- Antec NSK4400 Case
- Enermax Liberty 500watt Power Supply
- Seagate 320GB 7200.10 hard disk with 16MB Cache
- Soundblaster Audigy
- Windows XP Home SP2

Until an improvement in fSX, or drivers get rid of the problem, I'll revert to SP1.

Kevin

Glad to hear it :dancer:

Hope the quality was OK. I had to reduce them, in order to mail.

Cheers
