Odd one out.....7 pics

Post by Garry Russell »

Operating an evening service is this rare example of a Merchantman

Rare enough a Merchantman with EAS but a few details give it away as different to her sisters

Not well know as this but better known in her earlier life and on her return to the UK......in disguise, the prototype Merchantman G-APEM

Garry,
I downloaded this repaint and followed the instructions and made the correct entries in the CFG. file but when I select the aircraft in the select aircraft menu the description shows correctly but the aircraft itself does not show in the preview window.
Not just an untextured model but nothing at all just a black window.

I'm using FS9.1 with windows XP Home.
This is the only Vanguard like this all the others are okay

Any Ideas? HELP
Steve

Hi Steve

Have you got the 953C model?....that is do you have a model with an opening cargo door?

Steve,

In response to Garry's post above, I've uploaded the 953c model for you (and anyone else that doesn't have it) to HERE

Simply drop the folder contained in the zip into your Vanguard folder and Garry's paint will work fine ;-)

Thanks Dave

I have had a few in the past that did not have that model which my Merchantman paints of course points to.

Hopefully that will get Steve up and running.

Hi Steve

Glad you're sorted but I don't understand :dunno:

The config I supplied pointed it to the 953c model so it wasn't a cfg problem??

Yes.. that bit had me searching for the Anadin too! :worried: The only problem I can think of would have been the lack of model but there you go

Inside the "FSDS2 Vickers Vanguard" folder I had "model. 951", "model.952", "model.953" and "model.953c" folders.
Inside all the folders except the "model.953c" folder there was a "FSDS2 Vickers Vanguard. mdl" file plus a "model.cfg".
As the EAS version was the only one I had that used the "953c" model, I never noticed anything wrong before.

After placing the downloaded "model.cfg" file in the "953c" folder everything was alright.
I don't know why the file wasn't there when I originally installed the Vanguard but computers do strange things, well mine does anyway. :dunno:

But thanks again
Steve
