Hi Techy..

The simple answer is yes, you can. A better answer is, yes.. but you may suffer 'odd things' :worried: Best case scenerio.. it should have been installed straight after you installed FS9 ;-)

Hello mate :)

I'm sure I've read reports of it messing with addon scenery if installed 'on the fly' though to what extent, I honestly can't remember. Best thing to do if you're getting decent performance as-is is leave it until your next reload. Shame though as I think you could be getting better performance with it installed. Never mind.. what is life without these little challenges ;-)

I know some people had problems with SP1, but mine went smooth as silk even with a a fair amount of Addon Scenery and loads of non-default aircraft. If you can, back up the entire FS9 folder. I would also backup the following:

C:\Documents and Settings\your_name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9 and also
C:\Documents and Settings\your_namel\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files

This is because system restore does not save or restore anything in "My Documents"

Next create a system restore point and try to install SP1. Be sure to read Microsoft's instructiones first. Oh, if you have the no-cd .exe installed, you should install the original FS9.exe before installing SP1. If everything goes ok, you can find the updated no-cd fs9.exe on the net. If it creates a mess, just use the system restore.

Please note, try this at your own risk, not responsible blah, blah, blah, no warantee exists, express or implied, etc, prices slightly higher west of Maine and south of Thurso. Act now and we will double your order for free!!!! - just pay the additional exorbitant shipping costs, delivery may take up to 6 to 8 months by which time we will be in Brazil, and so on. :dancer:

Sorry to hear that, Tony. Still, look on the bright side of life (I seem to remember a song by that name) - you will have a clean install of FS9 and SP1!
