Super VC10 routes

Post by Globitz »

Morning All,

I have a couple of queries regarding Super VC10 Routes that maybe someone here can answer.

Firstly flight No 1610 would appear to route VCBI - VHHX - VHHH - RJTT Surely this cannot be right?
maybe its just a typo but it woukld be nice to know :)

Secondly if you look at all the Super VC10 flights in the route inquiry page, there seem to be missing flights. Around CBF1611 onwards there seems to be an occasional lack of even numbered flight Nos. Is there a reason for this as a lot of flights seem to be one way only and I would have thought that the missing flights were the return legs.

My apologies if these questions have been asked before, I just did a quick search and found no previous discussion.

Cheers for any help
Cheers

Hi Andy,

Thanks for finding that error. CBF1610 should have routed VCBI-VHHX-RJTT and is the 'sister' flight to CBF1608 which routes through VHHH. I've amended CBF1610 to show the correct route. Re missing flight numbers, yes there are a few gaps and this is intentional. The long haul flights are sometimes a nightmare to work out with sensible outbound/inbounds as quite often there were no obvious 'return' routes and indeed some airports only seemed to be 'served' in one direction. As much as possible timetables have been pared down to minimise duplicate routings (flightplans) and some mixing and matching of routes have been done. You will find some flights seem to be out on a limb also and this is due to the routes either side have been covered by another flight number elsewhere, so have been omitted. So, for example, if a flight routed A-B-C-E-F-G and another routed A-B-C-D-F-G then the second route would only have flightplans filed for C-D-F as the rest of the route A-B-C and F-G are covered by the first if you get my drift. Wherever possible I have tried to make the timings sensible so that the route 'flows' timewise whichever routing is taken. Sometimes though, that was diifiult to do, so a 'virtual' nightstop may be needed. Hope that answers your query.
