I'm staggered!!!!
How about getting rid of the Jumbo Pier so it becomes 1960 - 1970ish?
Only joking, but it would be nice if that was an available option. Fantastic work and I can almost see myself on the International Pier drooling over the sights before me and sniffing up the kerosene!

Amazing scenery - I've been inspired. Normally I concentrate on AI flightplans for Retro AI and the odd repaint, but I've started on Luton Airport 1973. Don't know how long it's going to take as there's a steep learning curve. I've already got lots of pictures and an Ordnance Survey plan for the period but if anyone has any pictures showing the hangers etc. they'd be much appreciated.

Thanks very much for Manchester Mr. Maltby, when the locals still called it Ringway xsmile. I live between EGCD and EGCC and it's great to see such a great job on the old place.
Re: Manchester Airport 1975 scenery project
Hi Dave,
I note that it still says on your 1975 EGCC page that you will be doing a 1960's version when the 1975 release has settled down.
Hopefully that will be sometime soon.
Thanks for a great airport,

Yes it does say that, doesn't it. Perhaps I should edit it. ;-)
Truth is I had rather a rough year and it never got beyond the initial stages.
Doubt it will happen now. That 60s terminal building isn't easy like the 70s version was.

Hi David,
No problem. Sorry to hear last year wasn't the best.
I'll post my "backdated to 1962" version on my site then. It's just a few excludes (car park, extra finger, etc.) and an edited AFCAD for turnaround parking, etc. That will go in a separate scenery layer just above yours. Then users can easily switch between 1975 and "1962".
According to this link the new terminal opened in October 1962:

Hi Tom. Well that sounds about as far as I'd have ever got with it. If you feel it'll be ok, that's good enough for me.
Yes, quite correct, the terminal building is indeed from 1962. I get confused in my own terminology!
The 70s version is an update to the same basic structure. Airside, it gained a 'modern' kind of concrete/glass outer skin, which boxed in the more intricate looking features.
While around the outer side, the multi storey & extra building work pretty much covered the old 'front door', which featured quite a distinctive roofed walkway along the whole length.

Re: Manchester Airport 1975 scenery project
Hi,
Oh thanks, I didn't realize there was a remodel involved. That's OK, for someone on this side of the pond your terminal will do nicely - and it's a heck of a lot better than the alternative! (i.e. default).
Thanks again,

A couple of pics circa 1959/60 which I've scanned.

Looks a bit bare doesn't it?

John
