OK......heres another topic that is as old as FS itself...the venerable Frame Rate.
I have always set my Target Frame Rate slider in FS9 to 25 as I figured that the human eye would not notice any more rather like film or video on the telly but since my 'Habit' of always using 'Windowed Mode' was incorrect.. ...is there an opinion on the correct setting favoured by the FS Guru's here?
I have seen several schools of thought on this one from 25 to Unlimited..
I appreciate that things may not be as they were in the days when Graphic Cards were somewhat lacking in the power of the modern day ones so I wondered what others have experienced here.
If you're using FS9 with the patch making it v9.1.. you should set your target framerate to unlimited. Prior to the 9.1 patch, the prog couldn't handle unlimited which is why it gave a suggested 'locked' frame rate (having quickly checked your system capabilities when it started). The 9.1 patch was designed to take advantage of faster systems (of which your's could be considered one) so give it a try. I've seen no advantage to keeping FR's locked since v9.1 ;-)
Ahhh...Ta...I am on FS9.1 and wondered if things had 'moved on'.....thanks for that Dave....now to start the 3 day install with a vengeance....scenery, addons, aircraft, more addons......
Ah yes.. temporarily losing your install is one thing and even if all is safely backed up, the reinstall is never a joy to behold  Fly it as much as you can because before you know it, you'll be in 'Bloat Land' again
