Hi Techy
Make a new folder inside your Simobjects folder called Aircraft.
Locate your FSX.cfg.. its usually in c:\Documents and Settings\NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.. and look for the [Main] section. First line is
[Main]
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter
Add this line to the bottom of the section..
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Aircraft
Save the cfg and that's your lot. When you next use FSX, it'll look in the Aircraft folder for whatever you've got in there and you shouldn't have to f@rt around with any compat issues. I don't have Vista so that may be something unique to the Vista OS but as I've described above works fine in WinXP SP2 ;-) ALL of my non-native FSX aircraft go into this folder (which means it's full and the default is empty!) and doing it this way keeps the two apart
