I've just received an email from Japan and in it Kazunori still says he 'intends' to keep on building.

In his own words he says ' the wall of language is still large' and I think this at times could be the problem. None of us speak Japanese and words can be mistrued at times to read as something else.

But then he also states 'I was just shown the remodelling thing by no permission of my airframe.....it is not a thing that good feelings for me'. I think this is what 'broke the camel's back' so to speak. I'm not sure what aeroplane it refers to, but he strongly states that he never ever wishes to see modification (if that is the correct word to use) of any of his airframes.

I personally think (knowing him well) that the flightsim community may have been lucky this time, but if it happens again, then he will stop for good.

Best wishes to all,

Martin

Thanks for passing that on Martin

There is too much taking for granted and his wishes must be respected.

It must be very difficult for him with the language barrier so needs to rely on good faith which is where the problem lies.

I suppose he needs a good agent to fight his case. He has made his position clear so perhaps an agent would overcome the language and leave him do what he enjoys doing.

Too many have left .

Some folk just don't know when they are on to a good thing.

Thanks for your post Garry. I suppose I am that agent in a way, but will have to go back to him to see if he does indeed want someone to speak for him. Its all very difficult at this moment and from his email this morning, it does some a little fraught. Think will wait a day before I ask, its only polite and by then he may have made his final decision. If I keep on too much, it may have an adverse effect. He's a nice chap, and is always polite to me and the last thing I want to do myself is let him think I'm saying the wrong thing. With the language barrier, this is so easy to do. Perhaps the best thing to do is to say nothing. Let him decide what he wants to do.

Went and had a look at that other place this morning and they are still carping on about the CFS2 issue. A little bit of respect is needed...nothing more, nothing less. If Kazunori states something in his readme file than that should be the end of it. I've noticed some people's opinions change rather rapidly in that thread and that surprises me in a way. You all know my views on freeware and as you have just said - Some folk just don't know when they are on to a good thing. That is so true.

If I hear anything new I will let you all know.

Best wishes to all,

Martin

The majority of people on the "other thread" are mainly positive, but there do seem to be one or two people kicking off a little; luckily some of the stalwarts are putting them right!!

I feel that generally the responses over there and here, to Itosans recent output, has been encouraging and positive. For example, the amount of time and effort people have put into making new FDEs and repaints for the Whirlwind has been astonishing, as was the work previously done for the P-61; and if I am doing my "reading between the lines" bit correctly I suspect we may soon have a similar job done on the Ju 388s!

On a personal note, sorry to hear about your personal problems Martin. We have a similar situation in our family, with an aunt dying of a variety of cancers, so I can appreciate that your situation is far from easy at the moment - if you ever feel like letting off steam, feel free to PM me!!
