A Rare Classic Amphibian...

...is one of the tools I'll be using in a long term project for the next couple of years. I've parked her at Marine Services for a bit of work to be done on her before I get started. Here is a take-off and landing sequence that also shows off the current state of McLeland Field. I have added a sequence of Panel shots for those who are interested:-


Moving around for a view that someone could look at if he were standing between the seats...This is obviously the way into the seats, as the arm rests are swung out of the way and there is even a footstep plate in the middle for you to step on as you get into your seat.


IFR for the Copilot...What quality! My fuel status gauge can only half show, but it works just fine.

Might I suggest that you try the "Auto-rich, Auto-lean" mod by Dave Bitzer.
It should be available at the MAAM sim site or from DC-3 Airways
Saves all that guessing with the levers.

Steve, I never use the levers. I prefer to use the keyboard in conjunction with Cyl Head Temp gauge and my fuel status gauge Thanks for the pointer. I will certainly look at it.

No James...His F-16s used as AI are a bit heavy on frame rates...I use Henry Tom's F-16s at McLeland Field (36 of them).

Steve I have installed that Mixture Control modification and tested it...It is very satisfactory and I'm delighted with it. I just added it in the same place on the panel in the Copilot's side and moved its location in the VC so that it is in the same position as in the 2D panels. I also added an RMI in place of the ADF gauge. Have already added the water sounds so I think the work is complete now and I'll wait for Marine Services bill

Here is the finished Marine Services work on the panel:-


2D panel Captain's side, showing the new RMI replacing the ADF Gauge. The Red needle points to the NDB and the Green needle points to the VOR tuned to NAV1. Also visible on this shot are the NAV/GPS switch at bottom left and the "Auto RICH/Auto LEAN" mixture control mod at bottom right corner. The light is clicked on to select the range and the mixture levers then move to maintain adjustment as the aircraft climbs. Auto RICH corresponds roughly to have the FS9 "Auto Mixture" ticked. While Auto LEAN is a range about 30% leaner. Works extremely well
