What a pile of RUBBISH!!!!!! It first tells me my FSX is a later edtion and it RTFM cannot install.....I then remove FSX and everything, do a complete re-install (almost an hour wasted) and NOW it installs but NOTHING from this DECELARATION PACK rubbish is on my HD, no aircraft add-ons or new missions. Not sure where to go now except to throw the thing in the bin, FS9 was NEVER this much pain.

Actually FSX itself told you that you were on wrong track :-) You didn't have to uninstall FSX...... (he said cruely, because he hadn't got it yet).....

Yep impressive Trev, in a hurry whilst in HMV, obviously late for your plane. Excusable.

I just did not even think to look at the discs (having two should have caused an alarm). They were full of FSX style graphics and different to my FSX DeLuxe discs too! I just shoved them in and followed the on screen prompts
Still, nice old XP allowed me to re-set everything in a trice and I will just have to wait a month (I rang HMV and they are holding the discs there for a month) until December :$ ;-)

Well, my copy came today, and I'm thoroughly p :@ ed off now. FSX won't even start.... Of course, there is the usual level of M$ support, so I guess I'll be trawling the AVSIM forums all evening looking for a solution.

Useless w :@ ers!

Well, let's try the 'glass half full' approach now! :drinkers:

It runs on my Vista installation (I tried on my XP install first). And I've got to say that my initial impressions are extremely good ones! The blurries aren't gone, but textures load MUCH faster than previously. It's actually possible to make out features on the ground at over 400mph at very low level (in the Mustang, which flies nicely in an arcade game sort of way :flying: ). Frame rates are perhaps a little better too, achieving the locked 20FPS most of the time.

All this bodes well for the replacement of my trusty 3GHz P4 with a Core2 Quad at the weekend! ;-) Now to sort out the problem with the XP install....
