Anyone know the answer to UK2000 installation problem?

A chum of mine suffered an FS9 incident and apparently lost all his airfields from Pts 1 & 2 of the UK Scennery 2000. He attempted re-installation but continually came up with an error message during re-installation ' Runtime error 380 - invalid property value'.

Several attempts to re-instal resulted in same error message.

Anyone here know how to solve this problem please?

It sounds like he has reinstalled over the top of the old installation. H'd be better of to uninstall FS9 (delete any files which are left in the FS9 directory, and then reinstall.

My chum reports 'no go.' He says that after repeated attempts he decided to remove the FS9cfg and let Fs9 re-write a new cfg. He then went to the UKscenery 2000 section in Fs9 Scenery and checked to see that pts 1 & 2 had been completely removed. After that he returned to the FS9 scenery cfg and reviewed that, re-writing some of the entries which somehow had got out of sequence. The whole evening gone for naught to show!

So far no progress in re-installation.

He's the only man known to have destroyed all the airfields in CI and SW England - he says it looks as if an agent of the building company 'Barrat' has been at work! All the ground on airfields sites is flat but there is not a building or runway to be seen!

I have left him contemplating acompletely new installation of Fs9 - he says that is the last straw.

It sounds like a fresh install might be best (having copied out the aircraft / gauges / effects foders) as these can be dropped back in (with the exception of some payware) without problem.

My chum has just told me that he now has a fully restored CI and West Country. Put off by the prospect of 3 or so days doing a complete re-install of FS9 he resorted to rather desperate tactics. The runtime error only occurred after the initial installation had placed all the required UK2000 Scenery files in the correct place within FS9 and he tried to use the UK2000 'Program Setup' to complete the scenery installation.

As a last resort he completed the initial insallation again but this time used the manual method within the FS9 Scenery Library to 'Add Scenery' afterwards moving that scenery to the correct position relative to the other UK2000 scenery within FS9 by using the 'Move Down' system. A quick check flight ensured that all was as it should be before proceeding to re-install Pt 2 and then update parts 1 & 2.

He can now resume that old route of IOM/Bristol/Jersey still going in 2005 although it puzzles both of us why people who live in Douglas, IOM, should wish to spend an appreciable sum of money to holiday on yet another island! Or could it be the tax/company laws in both islands that are the attraction?

The IoM is an extension of the Bristol service the main reason for linking the two Islands is business rather than pleasure.

A lot of the Banks have headquarters in both Islands.

Some years ago a friend of mine, employed by a well known bank, was posted to jersey for 3 years just prior to his retirement! He now lives in the UK mainland and considers himself very lucky to have enjoyed all the advantages of working in Jersey at that time. I am sure that many of us wish our employers had such excellent conditions of work.

Indeed it is driven by the tax free financial institutions ;-)
