Re: Requests Taken.....!
Hi Tony
If it was an A then it would be built with a forward cargo door I would think
All these changed are really done with the textures.
Check the right hand crew door it should be the narrow DC 4 type on the 6 and 6A.....the wider door was on the DC 6B/C and the DC 7 series..

Re: Requests Taken.....!
Looking at the clear colour photo in the book mate.....it says DC6A c/n 45531 but it doesn't have the front cargo door and no sign of a rear cargo door either....also a nice colour shot of a Hunting Clan Viscount 732 G-ANRT...

G-APNO and 'PNP were DC6 A (C) that is a DC 6A converted to a C so two freight doors.

Hi Tony
Take a look at PNP here
The only indication is the gutter over the door hatch
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1239635/L/
Compare to this of the same aircraft

Re: Requests Taken.....!
They had the two freight doors before their Hunting Clan days
The pic link above shows PNP in HCA livery
The Air Ferry pic was some years after HCA

Re: Requests Taken.....!
On the Air Ferry it is hard to see the doors.....check the window arrangement against a DC 6B and you should see a difference.

Re: Requests Taken.....!
Ok i can see the doors on the Air Ferries photo but the early shot outside the Hunting Clan Hangar i cannot.....maybe the white in the photo is overexposed hiding the lines?

Re: Requests Taken.....!
Garry is correct.
Cargo doors for and aft, I remember seeing them shortly after delivery.
They where converted before delivery to H.C.A. My late father flew them (as Flight Engineer) with Hunting Clan and B.U.A. and I remeber him telling me that they arrived as 'C's. the last two built. Also in his log book he wrote under the "Aircraft Type" column "DC-6C" (he could be quite particular sometimes, and not just about certain brands of whisky).
Thanks for all your effort Techy and I'm very impressed by the help and research of all you have contributed.
Steve.
PS. I think I might needing some more help soon with my Blackbushe project.
