Aahhhh..I have the magazine that the picture came from...
Of course back then, by the year 2005, we'd all be wearing silver suits, eat protein pellets and would have colonised the outer planets of Alpha Centurai.................

'My Auntie Mabel told me I'd make a great soldier, though I don't know how 30 years working in a biscuit factory had qualified her to make that judgement.....' Eddie Nugent
I think that image comes from an RAF Yearbook 1967 or 8, I certainly had it as kid I think it is the only time the words Concorde and inexpensive ever appeared together in the same sentence
I actually remember this. Whether I read it or heard someone say it on the TV, I'm not sure, but I do recall the idea of a Concorde bomber being proposed waaaaay back.
In those days they seem to almost automatically publish proposals for military versions of civil airliners none of which seemed to be practical.
There were pics of maritme Trident........but of course the Nimrod was an airliner adapted so it did happen just not from that particular airliner.
There was also a martime Vanguard they tried to sell to the States but the Electra became the Orion, again an adaption.
I used to have an article form I think Air Pictorial entitled Warlike VC 1O's
All kind of bumps and bits including a VC 10 bomber with external stores. One proposal that was not taken up at the time did become reality...the VC 10 tanker so perhaps anything could have been possible.
