One "not" for the purists...

Post by jonesey2k »

Heh heh heh. :dancer:

I've replaced all of the old gauges with RealityXp ones and added a Simflyer GNS 530 & 430 :)
Don't worry though, I've made a separate panel folder for the mods so I can still enjoy the original ;-)

Hiya Jonesey

The thing is mate.. many of the DC3's flying today will probably look very much like that ;-)

may i ask for the file for this panel to try out pls. having spent many hours with both official versions, nice to see that you have made an up to date modern version.

Well I've not finished the 2d panel yet and it makes extensive use of Reality XP's payware Flight N/T pack and also the Simflyer SeriesX Garmin GNS pack.
I might make the config available when I've finished tweaking for those that own the above packs.
It shouldn't be hard to substitute default gauges though.

I knew I should have qualified that statement a little but I'm not surprised by the response

Not a bad thing at all Dave - the few Dc3s Ive flown on have a weird mix of old and new which appear to have been applied to the panel with a shot gun from the flightdeck door ;-) I really like that panel and would use it in a hearbeat except itsfor the MAAM Dak :(

No.. and I agree Leif ;-) Jonesey's panel is a 'little' modern even for a DC3 :) I was thinking more along the lines of the Sperry being pulled out and a 'reasonable' GPS sitting there with, perhaps, a nice small VHF radio instead of the 'whole 9-yards' :cpu: Don't do wx radars. I like the surprise instead

Trying to think - Swire has something along those lines I believe , I have a single VOR/ADF set up with NOT a Sperry AP
personally if I knew enough about it - Id put Savs Gyropilot out of the Dove in it , but Im not that smart :( BTW the Swire panels come in default and MAAM flavors - The above mentioned panel lives in all the Quantum paints \\
