Subliminal advertising?

Post by Kevin Farnell »

With sunday being such a lovely day, I decided to make the 15 mile trip to Duxford.
Whilst inspecting the F4 Phantom, something was not quite right. something was there, not quite out of sight.

So I took a picture

It was still bugging me when I got home, so I played around with the settings, to reveal

:o :o :o

Anyone know when and where this aircraft was used in a promotion by Lancaster Porsche ?

Hi Kevin :)

It's obviously up your neck of the woods as underneath Porsche is the word Cambridge :o From the little I see, it looks very much like a Tomb so do you have the reg for it?? Might be possible to track a timescale down from that ;-)

EDIT.. Just read your post again and you said it was an F4.. sorry :worried:

Her Reg number was XV474 and she was owned by the Late Mark Hanna who wanted to restore the F4 to flying condition before his untimely death...

Thanks, Chaps

Found this, on searching Google for 'XV 474'

'Duxford - XV474 T owned by the Old Flying Machine Co - protected from the elements. Shortly before these photos were taken, XV474 had been transformed into an advertising hoarding, for a local Porsche dealer - what remained were the Black & red stripes.'

A Jag, privately on the airshow scene? that would be more than the Bee's Knees, that would be the Dog's very own....
