Just Jane’s Tail Up Taxi Run 2007 . . take two!(56k Warning)

Post by AlexP »

Thought you chaps might like to know Just Jane’s 2007 tail up (fast) taxi run appears to have been rescheduled for the 29th of September after rain stopped play on the previously planned attempt.

Did anyone happen to attend the Roy Chadwick memorial event last weekend and take some photos of the Shuttleworh/BAe Systems Avro Anson or the other visiting historics?
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend which is a really pity. :'( Not only was the sun out, but my understanding is that as well as displaying the Anson actually landed. :o :yipeee: I would have loved to have had the opportunity to have seen it up close on East Kirkby’s grass strip.

Bob,

So is that a case of :
‘OMG . . . that will make an excellent day out for my 50th’
or is it,
‘OMG . . . That clashes horribly with what I already had planned’

Just had a great day out at East Kirkby watching Just Jane go fast and the resident Spifire being put through it paces. :) Here's a few of my photos:

First run.

Taxing back to position for run two

Really pleased with this ‘Silvered Wings’ shot

But showing off in front of the crowds first

. . . and so does Jane

Sqn Ldr Paul Day puts on an excellent display at East Kirkby with Spitfire MJ627. Here the aircraft has just flow from behind the trees on the right, though the gap between them and the others on the left before curving round in front of the crowd.

Sadly the pictures don’t convey the intoxicating sound of the RR Merlin but I’m sure your all familiar with the one I mean.

A few more of Jane

And finally the Mobile Canteen proving it is indeed mobile. Stop waving and come back I want a cup of tea!!!

Oh, and Happy Birthday Bob. :birthday: Hope you had as good a day as I did however you spent it. CHEERS

Man, is there anything prettier than a Lanc racing across the grass. :) Great pics, Alex! Thanks for sharing them.
