Flash sites (although I D/L the latest version) seem to be a problem. I find that if I refresh, I get the site for 2 seconds, with the links working. This may be enough to get to the purchase screen, but it might be risky to go ahead with purchase in case it goes halfway through!

Tks for that ;-) The AP isn't a problem.. even having one fitted where there was none before but as the latter is the case, I'd have expected it to hold alt.. rather than simulate the old hydraulic Sperry which was notoriously fickle in this area Does that make sense?? I'm not sure now I've typed it :think: Put another way.. were it to have an old Sperry unit, I'd expect it to wander a little but as it doesn't, I don't. That sounds a bit more blunt but probably makes more sense

It's nice to know that the high/hot low/cold performance is accurate and it's been particularly well done. I'm a little unsure about the amount of nose-down pitch you get on full flap but that said, I've not tried to trim it out either. The model doesn't descend as such.. just goes heavy nose-down. Users of the current freeware Airspeed Ambassador will be used to the runway disappearing beyond the upper window frame on full flap.. those that dare use full flap that is!

I'm sure that Douglas fans will be in heaven. I'm simply not enough of a Douglas fan to see it in the same light though as I mentioned earlier, it's a great looking model. ;-)

My apologies if my attempt at humor about "autopilots" was misconstrued by some - having met gents who
flew both the two and three pre WW2 , I was 100% aware of who or what the "autopliot" was (The 21 years old
neophyte in the right seat) And that was why my comment about beating it around the head came up. Thanks
for the HU about the paints - Id prefer to continue my trip across the US in a TWA paint scheme (although I
will admit the CSA,Uiver and Swissair schemes are very nice). Im looking forward to getting to Winslow on my
little journey to try out the reason for the DC2s exsistence - Im also going to make the return journey to see how
it handles crossing Alburque's East slope to Clines Corner with a full load east bound

Dave - Don Douglas was the first two create the concept of similar cockpits (The Dc2 through DC7 are very similar
in layout and the Dc8/Dc9/MD80/Boeing717 cockpits are similar.....an idea the Boeing didnt cotton on to until
the advent of the 727/737 almost 30 years after the DC2/Dc3 and one that Im afraid the British aircraft industry
never subscribed to..It makes cockpit training and upgrading from type to type easier, more convenient and cheaper
for airlines. Funnily I find the Uiver DC2 cockpit more modern than the Dc3s but thats just me

The only thing about this model I find a little disconcerting is the sound set... and I will admit to NOT having
heard a DC2 in flight but the sound set seems a little "weak" for a pair of Wright Cyclones pounding out their
best.

Yes.. the similarity in 'offices' hadn't escaped me and I agree that the front end of the DC2 is rather more 'attractive' (for want of a better word) than the DC3. I'll leave it here hey as my dislike of the Douglas 'line' shouldn't be construed as it being wrong ;-)

I happen to like the total jumble of the Comets flight deck - sort of makes it "homey" - I suppose it goes back to the
old adage about American designers take an arm chair , put a pilot in it and then design the aircraft around that -
British designers build the ulitmate airframe them at the last minute punch a little hole in the pointy end for the
driver
