Fairey Rotodyne

Post by hobby »

I realise that fictional colour schemes are not welcome but some time ago did I see aRotodyne in RAF Transport Command colours? If so I would welcome the textures.

For John: Quick return for me, I have just noticed that the lettering in the picture of the Rotodyne indicates 'Royal Air Force Air Support Command' and I cannot recall the year when Transport Command was replaced by RAFASC (1968?). Also on both fins the red of the fin flash should always be towards the nose of the aircraft - no matter on which type of RAF aircraft the fin flash is applied.

The exception is normally aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm which never seemed to carry any fin flashes.

I am still none the wiser about this model, Alphasim made one for FS98 or FS2000, but that looks more modern. Air Support Command logos are good for late 67 and early 68 and yes, the tail flash is currently FRENCH

With that inaccurate nose and windscreen shape it looks like the Ito one to me.

Unless the other one had the same errors. :dunno:

Thought this all along but hoped I wouldn't have to say why I think it's that one. :-(

If this IS an Ito production, it's the first I've seen without inflated control surfaces so bravo for that!! It's a BIG if though
