XM607 Black Buck

Post by TSR2 »

Having just finished reading Vulcan 607 I dived on to flight sim to findthat 607 hasn't been done for the PSS / JF model! :o (At least not that I can find)

Anyone fancy doing the first Black Buck Vulcan for this model? :)

I have to admit I thought there was a BB version Ben but in the end.. I look at the colour and fly the prettiest one. Hardly 'Admin' material am I really :worried: Have you looked on the 'usual' sites??

Funny you should mention it, Ben, but I was going to do it for the Paul Foster model. Not that this helps your quest for the PSS/JF model...I thought Jens-Ole did a Vulcan series recently? Will investigate now.

**UPDATE:

Yes, Jens did a rather nice series for the JF Vulcan recently, but no 607. Nevertheless, he did do XM597 - wasn't that the lead bomber on Black Buck 1, that had to turn back? I'm sure you'll know, having just read the book :)

597 was indeed the one that went tech and had to return leaving 607 to do the first run. I was down at the Museum of Flight where 597 currently resides and took a good look at her wing pods for the ECM gear.... they weren't lying when they said they knocked them up from steel girders...thats exactly what they are! :o

I just though it odd that know one had done 607, as this was the famous one (so to speak) even though the JF model has her with twin sidewinders and no ECM pod.

I've put a request in at UKMIL and hopefully one of the chaps there might be able to help. :)

Cheers for that Ian. I spotted it last night, but alas its been repained using MS Paint, so not quite the quality I was after.

Thanks for digging it out though. :)

Indeed XM607 was released by UKMIL by a guest, ive not tried it out muself as i havent the Vulcan on my pc since i cleaned it out.

XM607 was never done by myself when i released my many Vulcan textures as at the time it was supposed to been have already covered by someone else at UKMIL but to this day was never released i dont think.

...and still to this day it was never released, until we had this 'guest' repaint released.
