Not an aircraft for me but interestingly the latest Posky ERJ145 virtual cockpit was modelled indepentantly of the aircraft model. (edit - see note below)
................After being underground for 10 days, of solid work, I have modelled frantically an Embraer ERJ145 VC for Nick's model..............During the final phases of development Nick and Hiroshi did some minor tweaks to the VC, so it could be easily implemented into exterior model,....................................
Food for thought for some collaboration to get VC's into models.
Edit : The VC is not in the initial release but will be implemented soon.
Separate exterior and interior models are only possible when compiling under the FS-X SDK (gmax/Max7-8 and FSDS3.5).
Models compiled with the FS-9 SDK have the interior model embedded in the mdl file.
*Technically* that means that you can now have designers that build interior or exterior models exclusively, as well as different interiors for the same exterior (or vice versa).
Haven't seen you on here in ages. It should open things up a bit, will be interesting to see what happens when FSDS3.5 starts to get widely used again, although I think many have started looking into MAx, although GMAX is old hat and 3DSMAX is V expensive, that might actually save FSDS.
Certainly sounds interesting for model building co-operation. Someone may have a penchant for exteriors and another for VC's. Getting the two together and being able to combine both's expertise into one model is a good step forward I think.
VC's take as long as the rest of the model so it will be a great time saver as well
My main concern...and thins is something that already is evident in a lot of models.......is a VC that is a different style/type or quility to the model......quite simply, they don't match.
It needs to be done in colaboration, not as an idepentant add on without any reference to the model or model builder.
