Just got in from the bank and the good lady has asked me if windows has a 'reminder' built in :o (leave em alone for a minute and they think stuff like this up!)
This sort of thing isn't really my 'bag' so I'd not even know where to start looking so.. does anyone know of a bit of software that act's like an electronic 'Post It' note. I'm pretty sure one is built-in to Outlook but as we use 'Express' that ain't much good and tbh, I don't want to use Outlook if I can help it. If anyone does know of anything that'll do this (and keep her in doors happy), I'll be mighty obliged ;-)
Vista has little postits that you can leave on the desktop or the sidebar.... Outlook (full)has it too. I'm sure I've seen a similar thing for XP though.
Yes indeed and every time I hear Vista.. it reminds me I don't want it!! Believe it or not, I've just had a look on Windows Marketplace and found a few (free too) that might fit the bill. I'll pull a couple of those down and see what the old boot thinks of em ;-)
I would start with the one with smallest file size on the principle that it should not load too much into memory. Also it will not try to be an all singing all dancing program with functions you don't need.
Cheers Ian ;-) I'd already considered this as the best solution but the one I tried to get off the MS Marketplace (using some new fangled digital locker/safe/whatever wouldn't come down  I'll have a look at some of those Dan posted and keep to 'small is best' ;-)
Maybe that is not such good advice after all - just tried the first one on Dan's list and while the file is small, it wants to download more as it installs.
Another one I found needed dotnetfx, which if you don't have it is another large install (I've removed that recently with difficulty after it screwed up the Windows installer).
Oh for those neat little standalone exe files that did the job without huge libraries of DLLs, etc.
Why is nothing as easy as it should be  I finally managed to get the one off M$ Marketplace by downloading it again then two came down It's less than 700kb and looks rather basic but it may do the job. We'll see
