Need a point in the right direction........

Post by Techy111 »

Hi folks...i been trolling the forum now for a good couple of weeks and i have a problem.... I was doing a repaint of the bucc in very garish colours and i got to thinking ?
Its such an obscure paint scheme that nobody would really like it in their collection so............I need one of you "old salts" to help me by giving me a project that i can really get my teeth into but the problem is that all the lovely old A/C here have been repainted by you professionals.
Can anyone give me a project to do as i think i really have the hang of PSP9 now and would like to release something to the community that would be appreciated.
Anticipatingly yours...... :partyman:

Hi Techy

I'll go with Andy.....the Bucc you are doing is a fine project.

BTW we're not professionals......we don't get paid ;-)

HI Techy

The most important thing is to do what you feel comfortable with. :)

You need to enjoy it or you will lose track and don't make the mistake of thinking you can handle anything just yet. :worried:

Build on your experience...that's what all of us here did, if you try and start at
the top the only way is down..... :-(

If you really have the hang of PSP9 :o then you must be unique.. people use that for years and still find they are only using a small part of it with so much more to learn

You receive all the encouragement you want but it is a mistake to ask for suggestions for any job before you have a few under your belt.

Sorry if I sound a little hard but I mean it in the best possible way.

We can't suggest anything because we don't know what you can do :dunno:

Garry that is an excellent reply and i thank you.....OK on with the Bucc repaint and see how it comes out and i will try and build some "street cred"....when i say i am comfortable with PSP9 i mean i can attempt the basics :)

Thanks mate (i mean that.....)

Very good point to start low.....

A few gentle ones and you gain more confidence move and always ask if any doubt....no question is too trivial...we've all been there.

It's pointless spending hours stuck on something when a quick question will get you going.

I'm glad you see my answer in the vein intended.

I don't use PSP myself but many here do so anything general or specific will be answered quite quickly. ;-)

But now you are getting a grounding you will find that any problem you will at least get an idea as to where to look for the solution. :)

Don't worry what anyone else thinks.

Most of my repaints were done for ME. That way I could keep the enthusiasm. If anyone else wanted them then that was a bonus.

Hi Techy

A while ago now I painted the Guernsey Airlines Herald

A hideous version of the awful BAF hoops livery in an overall yellow

I did it for completeness and put it out thinking no one would want it.........it quickly became at the time the most downloaded of my Herald paints. Sometimes a paint is popular because it is a minority subject....off the beaten track and is popular simply because it's different.

As I said above it is very important to enjoy is so as Ian quite rightly says do it for yourself :)
