Cheers for the info Garry....Am i a sad old git that almost feels pain that a gorgeous old bird will never grace the skies again? Answer prob = YES :) I am sure you know what i mean !!!

great photos many thanks. The props on the Duxford Viscount they look wrong or is it me?

The props on the Duxford Viscount are the correct props but I can see why you think they look wrong. They have painted the deicer overshoe just leaving a small black leading edge giving it an odd overall appearence

Viscounts with Dart 506 have that shaped prop the later Darts had a square tipped prop with either rounded corners (V.800) or square corners (V.700D and V.810)....V.806 had two of each

Before fitting with the 506 the early Viscounts as with LWF used the 505 and the prop was squared one edge and rounded the other giving a shape known as a cutlass blade. Some pics can be seen of BEA V.701 with two of each.

The later V.701 were called V.701C (G-ANHA-F + G-AOFX) and that designation means they were delivered with the 506 and rounded tipped props.
