of course - the 720 was in the same position as the Dan Air Comets - basically a transcontiental (US that is) aircraft
operating 2-3 hour legs for the Bucketandspaders out of Luton (I think the longest legs they operated were to Teneriffe,
Malta and Heraklion)
Negative Lief.
Once a week we took them to the carribean, St.Lucia or Antigua. :bandit: Wonderful days for a young man, three flight deck crew and six stewardess , as we were still allowed to call them. Having left England on a cold, wet, miserable Monday (I think) :-( you'd arrive in sunny St.Lucia (or Antigua) and there would be another crew waiting to take the plane back to Luton and you wouldn't see it again for a whole week. :welldone:

Anyway, looking forward to trying the Comet when I get back home tomorrow, the screenshots look great.
Thank you very much Mr. Maltby.

And again I will admit the 720s were slightly after my time at Luton - I wasnt aware they go that far afield :)

When it gets to Mach 0.72, take of IAS mode and use the A/P manual pitch Up/Down switch to keep Mach 0.72 instead.
If you want to try a cheat when it gets to Mach 0.72 try CTRL+M on your keyboard...It might work but I've not tried it myself yet.

EDIT...Ignore that cheat...Just tried it and it doesn't work with the Comet :$

BTW...I have spent some time with my printed manual on my lap, just sitting and identifying where everything is and getting sidetracked with just gazing in sheer admiration at all these fine instruments. However, I like to do this with the engines off and I don't really like it when the battery goes flat. So I've just slipped this mod into the Aircraft.cfg:-

[Electrical]
max_battery_voltage=0 //Battery will not discharge

Just slip that section in under the Weight and Balance section...you can always REM it out later with a couple of // if you want to return to battery flattening :)

A/P manual pitch Up/Down
Does this expalin the 'minus' sign in the tool tip (for the AP climb or descend) to climb, we are adjusting the trim to minus to raise the nose?

If that means it's correct - Yes!

The +/- is probably the wrong way round. So long as one is the opposite of the other though, that's the main thing.
+ could be switch up and - switch down.
Trim is a bit like accounts, up/down +/- Credit/Debit, it's all relative. HELP

I have altered it on my PC & so if there's ever an update it will filter through.
Also put in a temperature reading on the OAT tooltip.

Sorry I don't recall a Dave Campbell, and he doesn't appear in my log book, I was only with Monarch from Jan 1980 to Nov 1981.
I'll see if he appears in my father's log books, although he was only on the Britannia.
