I've just upgraded to a new box and the performance is blistering however I do have a couple of issues and I thought that soemone here might be able to help.
The problems appears to be video related. I've tried earlier drivers but with the same problems.
Any help welcomed.
(1) Although FS2004 will run in windowed mode if I try to switch views (from 2d to 3d cockpit for example) the window contents freeze. The simulator goes on running and can be re-entered by switching to full screen mode, assuming that you haven't fallen out of the sky in the mean time. :-)
(2) Fs2004 runs fine in full screen mode and I can switch between views successfully but the Active Camera utility keys do not work and the mouse wheel based zoom facility does not operate either. The mouse pointer appears as a black arrow in full screen mode (white arrow in windowed mode) although other mouse functions appear to work and when the pinter changes (tool tip or hand symbol) it reverts to a white indicator with a black outline. All keyboard and joystick functions seem fine in full screen mode.
Here's my configuration.....
Processor : Intel Core Duo Quad 2.4GHz
Memory : 2G
Video: Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS with 163.11 drivers
FS 2004 V9.1
Windows VISTA Home Premium with 06/08 fixes
FS2004, Vista & Nvidia

Re: FS2004, Vista & Nvidia
Doh!
Another Homer Simpson moment.
The Active camera problem was caused by having the wrong FS9 No-CD file installed. Once I had managed to discover this (should have read the FAQ's on the AC web site earlier! RTFM ) and reinstalled the FS9.1 version of the no-cd file all works beautifully from an Active Camera point of view.
Still cannot run in windowed mode but hey for a system that runs at 40-50fps, and gives me decent VFR scenery out of the windows, having to run full screen is no big deal!
