Hello.
For me to change to xp instead of vista is a pain, because as soon as i put xp pro into my pc it doesent reconise my hard drives, i rang alianware up and they said to buy a floppy drive, which i did, then they emailed me a web sight to download the drivers then they said to load xp and press F6 when loading, then it says press S
if you need to install drivers, so i press S then my pc says it cannot find the floppy drive to load oem drivers, so i ring again then they say to disable raid on bios, still know joy, then after all that they turn round to me and tell me that they shouldent be having this conversion with me as i bought the pc with vista on it. So please could someone out there with a bit of knowledge on computers please help me out before i explode, i have a alianware alx top of the range and would like xp on it or if someone could tell me the best settings for this nhancer programme as it dont look any better from where im sitting, i have reloaded vista again yesterday and there is a fresh copy of fs9 on it just waiting to take off. yours faithfully anyone out there perob.

OK Perob,
I can't help you with nhancer, but, reading your last post, I was wondering a few things.
When you downloaded the SATA drivers, did you transfer them to a floppy drive in the first place (unzipped, if that was how they came down!)?
Second, is the floppy available in the BIOS and detected by it, assuming it's internal? If not, is there a setting that needs to be checked in the BIOS?
Finally, I would think that expecting Alienware to support a DIY installation of XP on a new machine that they sold with Vista on it is like asking them to support an installation of Linux or even OSX, if that were possible.
Hopefully someone with an idea of what they are talking about will be along soon to put us out of our misery (where's Charlie Bravo when you need him?)
Also, I appreciate that you may well know a lot more about computers than I could ever dream of knowing, but I don't actually know that, if you see what I mean, so please don't feel offended if you have already checked the above!
Best (and good luck),
Myles
