I have to agree with CT as to where the oil goes - what did surprise me though was the last refinery to be built in the US is now almost 30 years old (1979) - and I wish we could get Flexfuels here in Lost Wages, seems that as all our fuel is piped from SoCal there is pitiful few places one can purchase it.

Prices like that are one of the reasons I've only been back to the UK once in the last year
I'm paying 13 pence per litre here ($1.17 per USG). My car does 11.7mpg and I'm in the very fortunate position of not being at all bothered (monetarily) about that.
There are a load of Venezuelans working for us who whinge about the cost of petrol here....... have a look at http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/ ... .html?2007
