I'm new here but have been lurking around for quite a while.
C.B.F.S. is a great site and I've been using quite a few classic Britsh aircraft for some time.
I thought I'd better introduce my self.
My first encounter with an aircraft happened when I was about four years old, my father was a Flight Engineer with Britavia flying the Handley Page Hermes out of Blackbushe. I remember him driving our car out to the apron and parking at the bottom of the steps, security wasn't quite the same then.
He went on to fly the DC-6, DC-7 and Britannia with Hunting Clan, BUA, Caledonnian and TransMeridian.
I joined the RAF and worked on the Britannia, Belfast and VC10,
At Laker Airways I worked on the 1-11,(many thanks to Dave Maltby for his Laker 1-11) 707 and DC-10 and started as a Flight Engineer with TMAC on the CL-44.
I'd just like to thank all the developers for bringing back some very fond memories.
Blackbushe Aerodrome on a sunny summer afternoon in the late fifties, Airwork, Pegasus, BKS and Skyways Vikings, Silver City and BEA , Hunting DC-3s and Airwork and Britavia Hermes and some Constellations..
Thanks for reading this drivel and thanks again
Steve
