FS Repaint: Any good ?
This has been mentioned before but I wondered if anyone has any experience of using it, and what they think of it:

Hi Paul
It is usually just used as a Viewer to check progress rather than a painting tool
Give the free demo a try and see how you get on.
The previes is not accurate tonalwise but for position etc it saves loads of time.

The free demo is what we use for viewing
I think the demo does everything the full version does but you can't save the changes.
It read the aircraft folder of FS but the bitmaps do not have to be extended for it to read them.
When you load up FS Repaint it lists the aircraft and select the one you are painting.
When you make a change in Elements save it into the FS folder you are working on, just press F4 and the change will be instantly seen.

I second what Garry said - I love it as a viewer, its saved me a LOT of time in the early stages of painting when you are setting up panel lines and so on to make sure they all join up right. I remember there was a bug through Microsoft that broke FS repaint a while ago and I was devestated as I've come to rely on it a lot. Fortunately the good people of this forum posted a link to the patch.

Steven Beeny, repainter and modeller. New Canberra series for FS9 out now.
