Waddo Airshow still on despite severe weather warning!!

Post by Nigel H-J »

Just arrived at work and have been told that despite advice from higher up (wherever or whoever that might be) Waddington have stated that the airshow will still go ahead.

Me-thinks that if the Met Office are right regarding further rainfall over the weekend, then there are going to be many wet, bedraggled and dissapointed members of the public who will probably ask the question: "Why did they not cancel it until the next week!!! :dunno:

The Old Warden show on the Sunday is cancelled due to the weather forecast.

I suppose that's a whole lot more understandable, what with the types of aircraft that were supposed to be flying.

Well i spose they are doing it to prove the "all weather aircraft" the Airforce has :dunno: Just we might not see them for all the crappy weather

I'm gutted, really had to fight to get this weekend off work. Leave was refused and I had to find someone from another station who would work their rest days for me.

Now i'm going to have to spend it down the pub instead, how terrible... (just don't tell the boss, i'll let him know how wonderfull the airshow was on Monday!)

Probably more down to the bog like properties of the aerodrome...

On the Waddo subject, the forecast (according to Cranwell's MetO) is better for Sunday's show - quite reasonable for part of the day at least. If they're wrong though, I'll be one of the annoying buggers hiding in an aeroplane!
